Miles' First Birthday Party

We had such a fin time celebrating Miles' birthday. We struggled with what to do for his birthday. Should we have a party at the house? Should we just invite family and close friends? What will the big kids do? Will anyone be in town Labor Day weekend? So after much debate we decided to invite all of our family and friends and have a birthday/Labor Day celebration party.

We had his party on Saturday September 5th. It was HOT! The high was 95 that day, but the good news was the humidity was very low. I set up a pop up tent on the deck and one in the yard to give us some shade. The weather was perfect in the shade. We rented a big bounce house/water slide for the bigger kids. For Miles and his friends we set up a kiddy pool and water table on the deck.

We ordered BBQ, made some cheese dip, and had a few kid friendly snacks. Of course we had lots of beer and a mimosa bar! I had champagne fruit and 5 different juices.

Despite the fact that it was Labor Day weekend, we had a great turn out! The Hahns, Dustin and Mindy, the Picketts, Souths, Hynicks, Baumers, Steeles, Kuos, Burstons, Meiers, and Tores' all can to celebrate.

Emory had a blast playing on the water slide with all of her friends. She would run from the water slide to the swing set and back yelling "I'm having SO much fun". Miles had a blast playing in the water table with Avery and Simon. Avery and Miles were laughing at each other and splashing every where! It was so cute.

Miles wasn't too sure about his birthday cake. He loved licking the icing off our fingers. Eventually he decided to dive in face first and eat some cake.

His party was a blast, and we now have a toddler in the house!
