Miles: 12-15 Months

Height/Weight
Miles weighs about 23 lbs

Clothing Size
He is wearing all 12- 18 month clothes. He is still in size 4 diapers and size 5 night diapers.

Sleep
Sleep is still going the same. There were a few nights in the last few months that he woke up and wouldn't go back to sleep, but luckily that didn't happen very often. The big change with his bedtime routine is that he is off his night time bottle!!! We started cutting down the amount of milk we put in the bottle slowly and now he doesn't get a bottle at all. Now we read him a story, and he instantly rolls over puts his head on our shoulder. We rock him and sing "rock-a-bye baby" and put him in the crib. He has been waking up between 5:00 and 6:00 am, I wish he would sleep in a little more.

He is officially taking one nap per day. Now that he is in the toddler room, they only take one nap at daycare. We tried to see if he would still take 2 naps at home, but he wasn't having it. He will go to sleep between 10 and 11, and sleeps for about an hour and a half.

Eating
He is doing great with the sweet acidophilus milk. He has had no GI issues at all, and he loves the milk! He is really tolerating all dairy products. He loves yogurt and cheese.

He is also totally off the bottle now and only using sippy cups. Packing up all the pumping stuff and all the bottles was a great feeling! Other than these big milestones, nothing else has really changed.

Favorite Activities/Milestones
1.His favorite activities at this point are biting and pulling hair. For a kid who is so cute and can be so sweet, man is he wild! He constantly pulls Emory's hair and tries to bite her. It is so frustrating. He has also starting biting the other kids in his class. There was one day that he bit 2 kids in the same day. We are working really hard to try and stop these bad habits, but its difficult to disciple him at this age. I know most of this is just teething, and it will pass, but I just hope it passes soon. I miss my sweet little dude.

2. He is now running. He is getting much more comfortable on his feet and falling less. He loves to run whenever he can.

3. He is starting to pick up sign language. He can now sign please, thank you, all done, more, and eat.

4. He is trying to talk more. He tries to imitate most of the words we say. Of course he isn't saying the words, but he is making the right sounds.

5. This kid is clumsy! I don't know if it's the fact that he is a boy, or the fact that I don't hover around him as much as I did Emory, but he falls constantly. Over the past few months he had a big scrape between his eyes, an big cut on his forehead, and another big bruise on his head. You literally have to follow behind him 24/7 to keep him from hurting himself.

6. Another HUGE milestone during these past few months was Miles' checkup with the pediatric urologist, Dr. Hill. During the visit, Dr. Hill did an ultrasound to see how Miles' kidney looked. Everything looked great! Everything looked so great that we don't have to follow up with Dr. Hill anymore. Once Miles hits puberty the doctor will have to check his kidney function and blood pressure every year. This was the best news ever! God has really protected Miles through all of this.

7. Miles had some more of his scheduled shots, and he got his flu shot. When the nurse gave him his flu shot, he just gave her the biggest stink eye. You could totally tell what he was thinking, "why the heck did you do that, lady?!". He was a trooper though, and he didn't even cry!

8.Miles loves hats, especially his cowboy hat. He was a cowboy for Halloween, and he didn't want to take the hat off his head. We keep the hat in the playroom, and he loves to wear it. Once I was in the kitchen, and Miles came riding in on the riding toy wearing his cowboy hat. He had put it on all by himself.
 9. He loves to color. He would always have a crayon in his hand if we would let him. We usually put him in is high chair, give him a crayon and he's entertained. We just have to make sure he doesn't eat them.
10. We recently discovered that he likes cucumbers. Martin was cutting some up for work and Miles happened to grab half of the cucumber. He took off with it, and took a big bite. He loved it! He just carried it around for the longest time eating it.
11. He makes the funniest facial expressions. He will give people the dirtiest looks. He definitely has Martin's facial expressions.

 Months 12-15

We wrapped up the summer and enjoyed fall with lots of swimming and birthday parties.  My parents came into town the weekend after Miles' party. We had a great time going to the Monkey's Treehouse, zoo, and riding Thomas the Train. Both kids had a lot of fun a the day out with Thomas.

The biggest event since my last post was the birth of little Carter Hahn. It will be great for Miles and Emory to have a cousin here in town!

Miles was sick a few time during the past few months with a couple yucky ear infections. He had a double ear infection, and then a week after he finished the antibiotics another ear infection appeared. I guess it's that time of year.

We took advantage of the fall weather with lots of fun outings. I took the kids to Gentry Farms one weekend while Martin was sleeping. Miles was great and hung out in the stroller most of the time. Martin and I both took the kids to Lucky Ladd Farms. They had a BLAST! That place is amazing. Miles loved running around, swinging on the swings, and playing in the dirt. He also loved all of the farm animals.

I took a trip to Orlando at the beginning of October for Hilary' bachelorette party and a visit to see my parents' new house. This was the first time that I had to leave Miles. Kathy came into town to help Martin with the kids, because I was gone for almost 5 days. The trip was great, and I don't think the kids even knew I was gone.

We took a family trip to Chattanooga for 3 nights. The weather was perfect and the trip was so much fun. Scott and Kathy came with us, and we rented a house right on the Tennessee river. The house was really cute, and the view was unreal. We went to the aquarium, children's museum and went fishing. It was a nice little break.

Martin and I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary. Kathy came and watched the kids so we could go enjoy a day at beerfest. It was fun, and the kids enjoyed staying with nana.
