We had a great birthday celebration. Most of Emory's friends are from her daycare class, so they all have birthdays very close together. In order to cut down on party fatigue, we decided to have a joint birthday with Emory's friend Molly. The girls were so excited.
We had the party at Bounce-U. They have two separate rooms with a bunch of awesome bounce houses. The party was great, because the only ones allowed in the room were people from our party. The kids had a great time. After the bounce houses we went into the party room for cake. Each girl had their own cake, and we sang each of them happy birthday separately.
On the actual day of her birthday she got to spend the day with Martin. They went to breakfast at IHOP and then to the Zoo. We got her a bike for her birthday. She doesn't get the concept of peddling, but she loves to put her baby dolls in the baby seat.
Emory is so much fun right now. Her vocabulary surprises me daily. She picks up on every thing! She loves Miles and is a great big sister.
She finished up her soccer season. She loved getting dressed in her uniform, running around, but she was not interested in actually playing soccer. Most of the practices consisted of her running around in circles and then running to the sidelines asking for water. The games went just about as well as practice. Half the time we couldn't get her to go on the field, and when she did go on the field she just stood there. The first time she tried to go after the ball someone pushed her while they were trying to go for the ball. She ran off the field upset. She did actually go after the ball one more time and kicked it halfway down the field. Overall it was a fun experience, but we are going to wait until she is a little older to do it again.
Emory had a great Halloween! This year she wanted to dress up as a princess. We took her to the store and let her pick out a dress. She decided she wanted to be Ariel. We went trick-or-treating with the Caldwell's again this year. Emory and Lane have so much fun together. They would walk up to the doors together, knock, and they say trick-or-treat.
She had a great 3 year check up. Every thing looked perfect. She was 37 1/4 inches tall (60th percentile) and weighed 29.5 lbs (40th percentile).
She has the funniest personality. Below are some of her funny quotes:
- She told Martin he needed to mow. He asked her my mommy couldn't mow. She said, "mommy is not going to mow, she's a girl."
- She was watching Dora the Explorer and I heard her yelling at the tv, "run guys, run! Hurry up!"
- One day she got a package in the mail from Nana and Grandpa, and later that afternoon she received a book in the mail. She was so exited. She ran up to me and said, "I not believe it! I not believe it! I have everything I need!"
