We decided it was time for a family vacation. The only problem is that vacations are hard with Miles at this age. So we decided to do a small vacation close to home. I have heard so many great things about Chattanooga, and we have been wanting to take Emory to the aquarium. So Chattanooga was the winner!
We found a cute little house right on the Tennessee River. The view was unreal. The house had everything we needed, a nice porch and access to the river.
Kathy and Scott joined us for the trip. The first night we cooked dinner and hung out at the house. We woke up early the next day and headed to the aquarium. The aquarium was a blast. Emory loved seeing the butterflies and the penguins. After the aquarium we walked across the bridge and took the kids to a park. It had a huge carousel that both kids enjoyed. After that we had ice cream and headed back to the house.
The next day we went to the children's museum. Honestly, I think the kids enjoyed this more than the aquarium. It was so much fun! Miles loved the water tables, and Emory loved digging for dinosaur bones. Miles got a little fussy around nap time, so we didn't stay too late. When we got back to the house we decided to do some fishing. Emory was a natural. The first time she put her line in the water she caught a fish! She was SO excited. She ended up catching 3 fish that afternoon. Now she is going to think fishing is that easy every time. That night Kathy and Scott watched the kids, while Martin and I went to dinner with a few friends.
We left the next morning and headed back to Nashville. It was so much fun! We may have to make this an annual vacation.
