Fall Fun

Fall has always been my favorite time of the year. Football, cooler weather, leaves falling, and tons of fun outdoor activities. We took advantage of fall this year with lots of fun activities.

Gentry Farm Part 1

We took Emory and Miles to Gentry Farm. This was our first outing as a family of 4 and it was great! Emory LOVED the farm. They had so many fun activities for kids her age. There was a tractor ride, a tire swing, a corn maze, a hay maze with fun slides, lots of playgrounds, animals, and so many other kid activities. The weather was perfect and the farm was beautiful. We took Miles in the stroller and he slept the majority of the time. He woke up once, I fed him, put him in the carrier, and he fell right back to sleep. All in all it was one of the best times we have had in a long time. I love seeing her so happy, and I can't wait to take Miles back next year so he can enjoy it too!

Trick or Treat at the Zoo

Martin and I took Emory trick or treating at the zoo. We decided to leave Miles home with Allison, so that we could have some one-on-one time with Emory. The event started at 5:00pm, and it was packed as soon as they opened. We went with 3 of Emory's friends, Ruby,  Molly, and Lane, and their parents. Emory was SO excited to go with them. She had been talking about it for over a week. When we would ask her what she was going to do in a week she would yell "ZOO"!!! Then we would ask her who was going with her and she would say "Rudy (Ruby), and Mol (Molly)". Then we would say what is Ruby going to be and she would say "Mini", and what is Molly going to be, and she would said "gir" (giraffe). Finally we would ask her what she was going to be, and she would yell "ELMO!!!!".

When we got to the zoo she was excited of course. We saw Lane and she walked in holding his hand. Melted my heart! The first thing we did was take a tractor ride. Emory liked most of it, but some parts were a little scary for her and she would just say "no, no". After the tractor ride, she rode the carrousel. At first she was a little scared, but once it started going she had a blast. I rode with her, and Martin stayed to take pictures. Every time she would pass by Martin she would either "roar" really loud, or yell "hi daddy" SO loud! It was too cute. After that she played a few carnival games. There was a whole section of fun games for the kids, and after they played they gave them a toy or stickers. Then it was time to move on to the good part...the candy! They had little stations set up along the path throughout the zoo. Emory would run up, grab candy from the people, tell them thank you, and move on to the next one. She caught on pretty quick, and loved every minute. She was so happy to have Ruby and Molly there with her. Whenever they were out of site she would say their names' very concerned. Molly and Ruby wanted to hold her hand, but Emory was not having any part of that. She has never been a big hand holder, except when it comes to Lane I guess :)

On the way home I let her eat a few pieces of candy. She was in heaven. She even tried to eat a tootsie roll with the wrapper still on! We had a great time, with great friends and will be back next year!

Gentry Farm Part 2

We had SO much fun at the farm that we had to go again! This time we went with Cam, Gina, and Lane. Emory was very excited to see Lane. They had a great time together. They went through the maze together, rode the tractor together, played with the corn together, rode in the wagon together, and even shared a few hugs. We brought Miles with us again, and of course he was a perfect little guy and slept most of the time. We stayed at the farm for almost 3 hours, and Emory had a great time with Lane!

Halloween

Of course, Emory was Elmo for Halloween this year. We were so excited to take her trick or treating for the first time. We went trick or treating with Cam, Gina, and Lane. Lane was the cutest little golfer that I have every seen. The weather wasn't great, but we really wanted to take them....but it was SO COLD! We bundled them both up and put them in the wagon together. They love being around each other, and they both had the biggest smiles on their faces. It didn't take them long to get the hang of trick or treating. They would go up to the door together, knock on the door, say "trick treat", get their candy, say thank you, and then say "next house"...haha. They sure didn't care that it was cold outside. We probably made it to 10 houses before deciding to was time to get out of the cold. Special thanks to Allison for watching Miles again, we are very thankful to have such a selfless friend that we consider part of the family.

Parties!!

We have had a great time at fun fall parties. Emory has been to Ruby's birthday party, Morgan's birthday party, and they had a Halloween party at school. She had a great time at all of them! She is a social butterfly.

This has been the best fall ever! I have loved sharing this time with Emory, and I can't wait to share it with her and Miles again next year
