Miles: 2 Months

I'm 2 Months Old!!!

 Weight and Length
Miles was 12lbs 15oz (50th percentile) and 24 3/4 inches long (98th percentile). We have another long baby!

 Clothing Size
Miles is still wearing 3 month clothes. They fit him perfectly right now.

 Sleep
Sleep is getting MUCH better! We still bathe him around 7:00 and give him a bottle. Sometimes he falls right asleep after the bottle and sometimes he will just hang out until 8:00ish. Once he goes down he has been sleeping for 4 to 6 hours!!! One night he even made it 7 hours without waking up! I woke up in a panic that night, and I had to go make sure he was still breathing. I couldn't believe he made it that long! After he wakes up the first time he will wake up every 2 hours or so after that. Around 6:00am he is pretty wide awake. So he will hang out with me while I pump, and then around 7:00 he will go back to sleep for another 2 hours or so.
He is now sleeping in his crib at night. We started putting him in the crib around 4 weeks.
His naps still change daily, but he mostly takes 30 minute naps. He is awake much more during the day. He naps about every hour and half or 2 hours. Some days he will nap for 30 minutes at a time, and others will be longer. He naps swaddled and in his crib. We have taken him out with us a few times, and he will nap pretty well in his car seat. Even though he has been taking short naps, he is still a very very happy baby!

Eating
He is starting to go a little longer between feedings. The first few weeks it seemed like he wanted to eat every hour! Now he will eat every 2 to 3 hours. He is still exclusively breastfeeding, so at least it is easy to feed him that often. He still doesn't eat for very long during each feeding, and the longest he usually eats is 10 minutes.

Favorite Activities/Milestones
1. He still has that crazy hair going on! It just keeps getting longer in the back, but won't grow in the front.
2. He has been playing in his play mat now. He doesn't really do much playing, but he does lie there and look at the lights.
3. He loves the tv, he will stare at it as long as we let him....so we try to keep it turned off as much as possible.
4. He really is a great baby. He doesn't cry much at all (and Emory cried A LOT). He only cries when he is tired or hungry.
5. He is smiling now! He started smiling around 7 weeks, and it was the sweetest thing ever. Kathy was in town and we both saw him smile that week. He didn't smile much after that, but he is starting to smile more often now, and he has smiled at Martin too.
6. He is starting to take the pacifier a little more now, which is actually nice since it helps him go to sleep.

Month 1
He is such a sweet little boy! He is very laid back, and he just goes with the flow. We had a visit this month from Kathy (Nana). She came down the weekend that Martin was working to help with the kids. It was a huge help, and Emory loved playing with her Nana.

Miles had several outings this month. We went to Gentry Farm twice this month. Emory loved the farm, and Miles was great! He slept in the stroller for most of the time, and only woke up to eat. One time I had to put him in the carrier, and he did great in there as well. The weather was gorgeous both times we went, so it was nice to get him out and about.
Martin had his first full day of bonding time with Miles while I went to work to give a lecture. They had a great day together! Miles also spent some alone time with his Nana and with Allison. Kathy watched him one night so Martin and I could go have dinner together. Allison watched him one night so we could take Emory trick or treating at the zoo. He had fun with both of them!
This has been such a great month. We have had some wonderful family time enjoying the beautiful fall weather. Emory is still loving her baby brother. She gives him kisses and plays peek-a-boo with him. We have had a wonderful month with our family of 4 (5 counting Sage)!
