Not a lot of new happenings over the past 2 weeks. He is a very laid back baby (knock on wood that this continues).
My parents, Kevin, and Hilary came into town Friday September 5th. My parents stayed until Monday, and Kevin and Hilary left Sunday night. We didn't do anything exciting all weekend. My parents played with Emory, while everyone took turns holding sweet Miles. Hilary cooked dinner for us Saturday night, which was such a huge help!
We took Miles to his first doctors appointment when he was 6 days old. He was already 8lbs! When we left the hospital he was 7lbs 8oz, so he is gaining weight great! At his 2 week appointment he weighed 9lbs 2oz and was 22 inches long. That's 98th percentile for height and 60th for weight. The doctor said everything was going great!
Miles didn't sleep great the first night at home. He just wanted to be held, and as soon as I tied to put him down he would cry. This made for a long night! Luckily we have had more good nights than bad nights. After the first night he started sleeping much better. He wakes up every hour or 2 hours, I change him, he eats, and he goes right back to sleep. Of course I am pretty tired, since I have to wake up so often, but I know this won't last forever. It seems to be easier this time around, and my guess is that it's easier since I know what to expect. There have been a few other nights that he just wanted to be held, but not too many.
Miles is starting to be a little more alert during the day. He still sleeps the majority of the day, but he is usually awake for a couple of hours in the morning and right before bedtime.
Bobby is staying with us this semester while he finished classes at Vanderbilt. Since Bobby was already here Josie and Parker drove down Thursday night to come see Miles. Emory loved having Parker here! Both Josie and Bobby have been such a big help to us! Bobby has cooked us dinner twice. Josie spent the weekend cleaning our house and entertaining Emory. We are thankful for all that they have done for us!
Like I said earlier, he is a very laid back baby. We are really hoping this doesn't change! He doesn't seem to spit up, cry, or be as high strung as Emory was. Again, maybe it is because we know what to expect, and we aren't as uptight this time around. I think it was around 3 weeks that Emory started getting fussy, so fingers crossed it doesn't happen with him.
Emory seems to be adjusting a little better. She seems to be less jealous, and she still loves to kiss him and pat him on the belly.
