Miles: 9 Months

I'm 9 Months Old!!!

Clothing Size
He is still wearing 12 month clothes. His 12 month PJs are very tight! I am going to have to order some 18 month ones this month. He is still wearing size 3 diapers. We ran out of size 3 diapers and had to use size 4 for a few days, and they fit him perfectly fine.

 Sleep
I have been waiting for the chance to write this....MILES IS SLEEPING THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! It has been wonderful!!! He goes to bed between 6:30 or 7:00 and wakes up around 5:30. There have been a few times that he has woken up, but he has been able to put himself back to sleep. This started around the middle of the month.
He is still taking 2 days per day. The first nap is usually pretty long, an hour or 2. I hope things continue to go this well with his sleep!

 Eating
I am still pumping and giving him a bottle. He has about 5 bottle a day. He is still eating solids for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. He seems to like most of the vegetables. At the beginning of the month he was eating oatmeal/rice cereal for breakfast, and a veggie pack for lunch and dinner. The past week he really hasn't eaten much. His front 2 teeth are just starting to pop through, so that may be playing a role in his decreased interest in solids.
This month he tried finger foods for the first time, and he caught on pretty quick. We started out giving him canned carrots. They are very soft and easy for him to pick up. After that we gave him peas, corn, Cheerios, green beans, bananas, avocados, pears, and lima beans. He loves the carrots, peas, and corn, but isn't too sure about the other stuff. I'd say his favorite food right now is Cheerios though.
I am still going without dairy and soy. He still has some mucus in his stool, but the blood has still been absent.

 Favorite Activities/Milestones

1. Miles is pulling up on everything! It he can get a hold of it, he will try and pull himself up. He is so so strong. At first it was a little scary, because he would pull up and fall over. Now he is learning to fall on his butt or let himself down. He is attempting to take a few steps while holding on to things, but he doesn't have that down quite yet.
2. His 2 front top teeth starting poking through at the very end of this month. You can just see a tiny piece if them,. but they are there! So now he has his 2 bottom teeth and 2 top teeth.
3. He is making so many new noises. He babbles all the time. He loves to say "mama". He says it when I'm holding him or when he looks at me. I'm sure he doesn't know what it means, but I think he is learning. He has made the "dada" and "baba" noises also. He loves to talk all the time now.
4. He likes to shake his head "no". It is a very violent shake. He shakes his head so hard it makes his entire body move!

5. We took a LONG road trip this month. We went to Illinois to celebrate Grandpa Hahn's 95th birthday. Miles did great in the car. He got a little fussy at the end of the trip, but overall he was a trooper. We stayed 2 nights at Grandma Storm's house and one night at Grandpa Hahn's house. Miles adjusted very well and enjoyed getting to meet his great grandparents.

6. He is starting to get very attached to me. The last weekend in May my parents were in town, and Miles only wanted me to hold him. As soon as I would give him to someone else he would start screaming. He is also very attached to his teacher, Mrs. Tonya. He LOVES her! As soon as he sees her he crawls over to her, and sometimes he doesn't want to go to Martin when she has him.

7. Miles was very sick at the end of the month. He had a 103.5 fever for almost 3 days! It was awful. I would give him Tylenol to help make him more comfortable, but as soon as it wore off the fever would shoot back up. I took him to the doctor on Memorial Day, and the doctor said it was just viral. He ended up getting better, but was still very fussy and clingy. I ended up taking him back to the doctor and he had a double ear infection. Luckily it cleared up with amoxicillin, and he is back to his normal happy self.

8. He loves eskimo kisses!!! He makes the funniest face right before Martin gives him one.

9. He also likes to play peek-a-boo with Martin. He will turn his head to the side and then turn it back really fast and laugh.

10. I picked him up from daycare one day and he had on pink pants. I guess he didn't have an extra change of clothes, and those were the only pants his teacher could find. Well, she said she felt bad putting him in pink, so she took some blue tape and made stripes. It was so funny!

 11. Miles loves Marshall and Annie! I had to drop him off early one day at daycare, so I had to leave him in the infant 1 room until his teachers go there. He is so much bigger than all the kids in there. When I put him down he crawled right over to Marshall and was watching him jump in the jumper. Later that week Jen took  pic of Miles trying to give Annie "kisses". Although it looks like he is going to kiss her, he was really trying to eat her face. He's a beast. Another day I also witnessed him crawl over to Marshall and grab a huge handful of his hair. Ohhhh, Miles.

Month 8
Miles got to spend a lot of time with family this month. We started the month off with a trip to Illinois, and we ended the month this a visit from my parents. Unfortunately, Miles was just getting over his sickness while my parents were here, so he wasn't his normal happy self. I had to attend graduation this month, and Martin had to work so Ms. Lindsay came to babysit the kiddos. I also was able to spend a long 4 day weekend at home with the kids! The daycare was closed Friday and Monday around Memorial Day so I was home solo with the kids for 4 days. We played with Lane and Eli one of those days. Lane loved Miles! He crawled around on the floor following Miles around.

It is finally summer time and we are getting out and enjoying the weather. Miles is pulling up on everything and really starting to develop his happy and silly personality. He make he smile every day!
