Miles weighs 22lbs and 3 oz which is the 60th percentile. He is 30 1/2 inches long which is the 75th percentile. His head circumference is in the 95th percentile which we could have guessed....he has a massive head.
Clothing Size
Clothing Size
He is wearing all 12- 18 month clothes. We have now gone up to 18 month PJs. He is still in size 4 diapers.
Sleep
Sleep is still perfect. He is still sleeping through the night. He goes to bed between 6:30 and 7:00 and wakes up between 5:30 and 6:30. For a while he would sleep until 6:30 pretty consistently.
His naps at home and at daycare are about the same. However, now that he is moving up to the toddler 1 room he will only be taking one nap per day. There have been many days that he has only taken one nap, and he seems to do ok. He can get a little tired and cranky at night, but not too bad. He has been in his new class now for almost a week, and he seems to be doing well with only one nap. The other major sleep change in this room is that they take their naps on cots! It blows my mind that the kids actually stay on the cot during naptime, but his naps have been great!

He hasn't been eating as well this month. At his one year check up the doctor said his molars were coming in soon, so I wonder if that has something to do with his decrease in appetite. He is less interested in the normal foods we feed him (carrots, peas. corn, chicken ,fruit) and more interested in bread.
We have been transitioning him off the bottle. He now only gets a bottle before bed, and he uses sippy cups throughout the day. This is another change in his new class, they do not give the kids bottles.
The biggest news in the eating department is he can try milk!!! At his one year check up the doctor told us to start with 4oz for a week, then increase to 8oz for a week, and if he tolerates that we can give him milk all the time. She recommended the sweet acidophilus milk, and at his 15 month check up we may be able to try regular milk. I am SO ready to be finished pumping. I have cut back to pumping 2 times a day, and once we know he tolerates the milk I will stop for good. We have started giving him a few more foods that contain dairy. We haven't given him yogurt or cheese, but he has had biscuits and crackers that contain milk. Fingers crossed that he can tolerate it.

Favorite Activities/Milestones
1. He now has 2 more bottom teeth.
2. He is WALKING!!! He started taking a few steps last month, and he would fall down instantly. Then he started taking more and more steps on his own, but crawling was still his preferred mode of transportation. Now he walks everywhere, and he is getting pretty good at it. We had to dig out some of the shoes that Josie passed on to us to protect those little feet.
3. He still loves Sage, and he makes a barking noise every time he sees a dog. At his one year check up there was a picture of a black horse on the wall. He looked at it and started barking like Sage...I guess Sage does look like a horse.
4. He will say "nana" when he sees a banana. He points to them on the counter, grunts, and says "nana".
5. We finally switched to the big car seat. No more infant car seat.
6. He is into EVERYTHING!!! He wants to open every cabinet and every drawer. He also puts everything in his mouth. He has learned to climb the stairs this month. We have had to step our baby-proofing game up with this one.
Month 11
Well our little guy is one! I just can't believe we have a toddler now and not an infant. He loves to laugh and play peek-a-boo. He has become a little clingy in the past month or so, which makes it impossible to do anything in the evenings, but that's ok because I love cuddling with him. He had a great first birthday party with lots of friends, and he tried cake for the first time! He was also baptized this month!
Miles went on lots of fun outings this month. My mom and dad came into town, and we went to the fair and to ride Thomas the Train. Miles was perfect on both outings. He just sat in his stroller and ate cheerios.
He went for his yearly check up with the urologist this month. Dr. Hill did an ultrasound and his kidney looks great. He said Miles doesn't have to follow up anymore, he will just have to check his urine and blood pressure once he hits puberty.
He is growing so fast, and he is starting to have quite the spit fire personality. When he was younger we thought he was going to be very laid back and go with the flow. He definitely has more of those qualities than Emory, but he also has some very strong opinions! If you take a toy away from him he SCREAMS and throws a major tantrum.
This year has been so fun, entertaining, exhausting, challenging, and rewarding. I love this little guy, and I am so blessed to be his mom. Thank you for all the joy you brought into our lives this year, Miles!
