I'm 5 Months Old!!!
Weight and Length
He will be weighed and measured next month.
Clothing Size
He is wearing 6- 9 month clothes. He has outgrown his size small sleep sacks and is now in the medium ones.
Sleep
Sleep is getting better! At the beginning of the month he was still waking up around 11 or 12:30 and then again around 4:30. I think a lot of this has to do with his tummy. He has been SO gassy! He moans and grunts and has the worst smelling gas. He's also been going 4-5 days between bowel movements. I think these tummy troubles have been making hard for him to fall and stay asleep. Well his tummy hasn't improved much, but his sleeping is getting better. He has been falling asleep around 7, waking up around 2:30 and then again around 5:30. It seems to be getting better slowly but surely.
He sleeps on his tummy pretty much all night. We put him down on his back, and within 30 minutes he rolls over to his tummy, The first few nights it scared me pretty bad. I would go in make roll him over to his back. After a few nights I realized that he was perfectly fine, and it's actually probably helping the flat spot on his head.
His naps are about the same. He takes about 4 naps a day, and they vary from 30 minutes to 2 hours. If he takes a longer nap, then he will sometimes only take 3 naps on those day. He is still very happy
Eating
Eating is about the same. He is eating every 2-3 hours. He has been eating anywhere between 4-8oz a time. We haven't started him on solids yet. We will start at 6 months.

Favorite Activities/Milestones
1. He loves looking at himself in the mirror. When Kathy is here watching his she holds him up to the mirror, and he just cracks up.
2. He is still rolling over both ways, but he is a pro at it now! He is barrel rolling across the floor. We put him down, turn our backs for a second and he's half way across the room! He will roll to try and get to the toys that he wants to play with. Let the mobility begin!
3. He started discovering his feet last month, and this month he has been chewing on them like crazy.
4. He is sooooo ticklish! He just laughs and laughs.
5. He loves sleeping on his belly and on his side.

Miles has had a wonderful month! This month he took his first road trips! Miles and I traveled to Columbia, TN together. I was nervous for the hour drive alone with him, but he slept the entire time! The only small issue we had was a major poopy blow out on the way back. Other than that he was a champ! We also went to Clinton for Christmas. He did great on this trip too. He slept a good majority of the trip and only got fussy towards the end. Overall it was a success.
I brought Miles to Belmont with me so he could meet everyone. He actually came to our department meeting, and my boss held him while she conducted the meeting. He loved looking at everyone. He did great during the meeting, and all the girls passed him around. He must have especially liked Kristy. She was holding him during the meeting and he had a HUGE poop. Of course it happened during a time when everyone was quiet....and this poop was not quiet at all. I had to change him into a new outfit, but luckily nothing got on Kristy.
Miles went on a lot of Christmas outings with us during the month of December. He also went over to the Caldwell's house and hung out while Emory and Lane played. He spent Christmas in Clinton and New Years Eve at the Conover's. He enjoys getting out of the house.
He is growing like a weed, but he still has the sweetest demeanor. He is so happy and he never cries. He loves being around people and watching his big sister.
This was my last month of maternity leave and with the holidays it really flew by. I started work recently, and Miles is staying home until the end of March. Martin, Kathy, and my mom are splitting time watching Miles until he starts daycare. It is such a blessing to be able to keep him home during flu season. Kathy has been such a huge help! She has cooked, cleaned, washed clothes and loved on Miles. I am also glad that my mom has been able to come spend some time with Miles. She came up of a week at the end of January and loved being with that sweet little boy. I hate being away from him, but I am so thankful that he is in great hands!
