I'm 7 months old!!!

Weight and Length
We went to the doctor last week and Emory weighed 16 lbs 15 oz
Clothing Size
She is still wearing mostly 6-9 month clothes...but they are getting pretty tight! She fits comfortably in 9 month clothes, and we actually have a few 12 month outfits that she wears.
Diaper Size
Emory is still wearing size 2 diapers and size 3 diapers at night. We have actually started double diapering her at night. I was so tired (literally) of waking up in the middle of the night and having to change her clothes and the bed sheets because she leaked through the diaper. It seems to be working so far.
Sleep
Sleep has been improving this month! She's starting to truly sleep through the night now. When I say sleep through the night I'm talking 10 or 11 hours!!! Granted this has only happened a few times at this point, but it's a step in the right direction! Most nights she wakes up once or twice, I put the pacifier in her mouth and she's right back to sleep. Towards the end of the month she's started sleeping until 6am. It's wonderful! I hope this is a sign of things to come, and maybe I can start getting some uninterrupted sleep!
Naps are still pretty hit or miss. There are days that she will sleep for an hour or more during her naps, and then there are days that she sleeps for 30 minutes. Her naps at daycare have not been great at all. The past 2 weeks she has only slept for 30 minutes ALL DAY! There is no way that a 6 month old should only sleep for 30 minutes all day. There is just so much going on that she doesn't want to miss out.
Eating
I am still exclusively pumping and feeding her with the bottle. She is taking a bottle every 3.5-4 hours and eating about 7oz with each bottle. She started fruits and veggies this month! We decided to start with green veggies, then add the orange veggies, then add fruits. I have read a lot about introducing foods and some things say "introduce veggies before fruits or they won't eat veggies" Others say "it doesn't matter because they will always have a preference for sweets" So we just did what the doctor recommended. We introduced one food at a time over a period of 3-4 days to watch for any allergies. We started off with green beans, and she hated them the first night. Her face during that first bite was priceless! She squinted her eyes and made a face like she wanted to vomit. It got better the next few times, and she actually loves green beans now. After green beans we tried peas. Again, she hated them at first, but after a few times she ended up liking them. Next we introduced squash, carrots, and then sweet potatoes. She ended up loving all of her veggies! After the veggies it was time for fruit. Martin and I were SO excited about watching her try fruit for the first time. Bananas were first up. She opened wide expecting some boring veggies, and we figured she would love the sweet surprise of the bananas. Boy were we wrong. Turns out she does not like bananas at all! She made that terrible face like she had with most of the food for the first time. We figured after a few tries she would end up liking the bananas, but we were wrong. We tried them for about 4 days and every time she hated them. After the bananas we tried peaches, applesauce and even pears. She hates them all. She tolerated the applesauce better than the other veggies, but it was still no good. So much for the "they will always have a preference for sweets" talk. Our child hates fruit! We are going to keep trying and I'm sure she will like them eventually.
We are feeding her solids for breakfast, lunch, and dinner now. She usually eats oatmeal and a veggie for breakfast, a veggie for lunch, and rice cereal and a veggies for dinner. Once she starts liking fruit we will mix some fruit in there too. The doctor wanted us to continue the oatmeal and rice cereal to make sure she is getting the necessary iron. Breastfed babies need extra iron, and Emory hates taking her iron supplementation, so hopefully she gets enough this way.
There was about a week this month that she did not want to take her bottle at all. She would drink an ounce or two and then push it away. One day she went almost 7 hours during the day with no bottle. Eventually she got back to normal, thank goodness!
Feeding her new foods has been a ton of fun. I love watching her funny faces while she makes all kinds of messes.
Favorite Activities/Milestones
Emory is still rolling everywhere. She has even learned to turn herself in the direction she wants to go. She will be on her belly and pivot around until she is in the right direction and then roll. She still can't sit up on her own, but she sure is trying! If she's propped up she is fine, but without something propping her she falls right over. She is also doing what we call "roll and pose". She rolls for a second then stops on her side, like she is posing for a photo shoot, then she keeps on rolling. It's so much fun watching her get to where she wants to go.
She has discovered some new toys this month. Kathy bought her some stackable cups and she loves playing with them. She can't stack them yet, but she will pick two of them up and hit them together. She also loves to knock them over. We will stack them up and she knocks them right over. She also discovered the xylophone this month. She will slam her hands on the keys and make all kinds of noises. She is starting to figure out that she has a voice. At the beginning of the month she started making the cutest high pitch squealing noise. One of my favorite things that she started doing this month was giving high fives. One day she was laying on the changing pad and Martin said ,"give me a high five" and she actually did it! We figured it was a fluke, but then she did it again...and she will still do it now. I love it!
Month 6
We started the month off attempting to go visit Emory's aunt Josie and cousin Parker. Every time we tried to go visit, Emory would get sick. It literally took us three weekends before we could get over to Atlanta to meet the little guy. We just wanted to be extra careful not to get Parker sick. Well we finally got to meet him, and we had a great trip. He is such a good baby! Emory had two visits from her Nana this month! Kathy came down to spend some time with Emory. As always it was great to have her here.
We celebrated Memorial Day weekend with some of our friends, and Emory got to make some new friends. Our friends, Cam and Gina, have a little boy who is about a month and a half younger than Emory...his name is Lane. We spent Memorial Day at their house for a cookout. She had so much funny meeting Lane. She also met sweet Madelyn who is a month older than her. They were instant buddies, and it will be fun to have friends with little ones around the same age as Emory. Cam and Gina bought a baby pool for the kids. We were SO excited to see how much Emory would like the pool. She loves bathtime, so we just knew she would love the pool too. Boy were we wrong! The instant we placed her all the way in the water she started crying. I think the water was a little cold for our spoiled child. When we sat her on the edge of the water she was fine...but she did NOT want to be in that pool.
Emory and I went to listen to some music in the park one Saturday with Allison. Emory loved checking out all of the people.
This month has been filled with lots of fun exciting milestones. I love watching her try all kinds of new foods, and I love seeing her little personality develop. She is going to spit fire!
